I’m SO behind-so I just heard this: “Firefighters in major cities are being trained to take on a new role as lookouts for terrorism, raising concerns of eroding their standing as American icons and infringing on people’s privacy.”
And this is the bad part: “they are told to be alert for a person who is hostile, uncooperative or expressing hate or discontent with the United States”
DISCONTENT????? Aargh! If you’re not discontent with what’s going on in America, you’re not paying attention!
They’re looking at books-ooooo-thoughtcrime.
The Senate 1959 and House 1955 are similar bills in this same area (they’re calling them the “ThoughtCrime” bills) The House bill passed, the Senate one is in but nothing has happened yet. I read it and it seems SO innocuous. Those are the worst kinds. Just like the Patriot Act.
