Quiet progress

I have a few links stacked up. One of the people from church is agonizing over blogging-she does it for awhile then stops. I looked back and my posting frequency averages out to about once a week. I started out there, took a 2½ year hiatus, went to once a day, and am really variable right now. A burst, then nothing, then a burst. I know this isn’t good to keep readers, but since I’m not doing this to entertain the punters, “I, don’t care”, as Vendetta on Making Fiends says…

OK, so it’s been quiet, as it’s the New Year. I jumped rope last night and started back on the long Yang form. I did a little with the shakuhachi, and I really want to finish recording and do some new recording too. Also start on the ID program. I’m trying to lose weight, and clean things up-not using anti-perspirant/deodorant (which means more diligence about being smelly), I need to start flossing again too. Work is progressing-fixing things. Erika’s going to Long Beach on the 17th. Kids are getting up reasonably well, but are still struggling with bedtime and too much TV/game boy/wii during the week. We were supposed to have a big ice storm last night and it didn’t happen-rainy and cold, though. Gamelan tonight.

Here are the links-more depressing stuff. The Rabbi Shmuley is good, though he injects in some stuff that’s just incorrect conservative BS (the tariff stuff, for example). American Malaise, Think Again: American Decline, Big Brother: America’s Police State Mentality in the Electronic Age, In the Twilight of the Social State. I’m glad I’m reading the “The Philosophy of Freedom”, Steiner says a lot about independence of thought, but I’m not sure about the dictum to follow society if it’s going in the wrong direction.

6:13 pm-On a happier note, watch this: 21st century enlightenment. It looks like a series, and this one is amazing!

Listening to: KPOJ (I think teh plod has no battery left)
