Time flies…when you’re having fun. Or not.

Please tip the writer. Whatever amount you like-every little bit helps, and I’ll do a shoutout. We are always short of cash, especially with a big mortgage. Let me know if you or someone you know needs web design/development-my rates aren’t bad, and I’m more than pretty good at it. Java/database/AWS/UI too. Erika is making witch’s bells-if you’re interested, please get in touch. ThankYouVeryMuch!

…and another month has passed. I was having a chat with Matt about time flies faster as you age. Yeah, it does. And there’s not much happening, even though there was an eclipse. It’s a celestial event, fer chrissake, not the end of the world! That’s not for a couple of billion years. And eclipses will stop happening in about 600 million years (or so). I just don’t understand the science denial. There are several Facebook forums I’m on that get flat-earthers trolling. There’s no shortage of trolling in other forums, of course…and no shortage of science denial everywhere else. Our culture is decaying, as are other parts of our civilized world. The natural world doesn’t care, it’s been through changes before. Life is resilient and change is constant. We’re just not as resilient as we should be. That might be something to look into.

Thursday morning (3/14)-all hands meeting in a couple-make that right now. Afternoon-had to do a manual run thing right during lunch. Erika’s super sick so I’ll probably need to go shopping after work. Need to get a pie, because, well, Pi Day.

Friday afternoon-it’s a beautiful day! Sunny, mild. Walked around the yard a couple of times, more debugging. Curry chicken leftovers for lunch. Not much else, made the car payment. Did a bunch of shopping last night, replenished my oatmeal supplies, just in time to start doing bagels. Maybe I’ll try to make them by hand.

Tuesday morning (3/19). Pretty quiet-start of sprint. Got through everything. Fine workouts both Friday and Sunday. Mowed the lawn, drove around Saturday, got cheap blueberries, Indian spices, jiaogulan, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce-want to make more curry on the regular. Got a bread machine at the binz! Already made 2 loaves, want to try making bagels for the summer weekend breakfasts. Sunday, drove Salem to a rock climbing party, went to a cute little occult bookstore on Burnside. Lots of cool artwork on the walls, a shrine, hardcore music, nice staff person, and the books! Stuff you just don’t see at the usual occult bookstore. Put plumber’s tape in the spa fitting, blew out the leaves on the front and back porches. Need to break out the hedge trimmer.

Wednesday afternoon. Big payday tomorrow. Nice workout last night. Forgot to wash my w/o clothes, washed regular clothes late.

Thursday morning. Our high priority job failed with a database error-the db is in “recovery”-they have no idea how long it will take. Big payday was not as big as last year. Noon, db is back, job is rerun. No gamelan last night, a thing, shopping, made curry chicken with the real ingredients from the Indian market. Much stronger-Erika was blown away by the smell-didn’t have any, had to keep the bedroom door closed. Not quite as hot as I’d like, more hot curry mix in next time.

Friday morning. Pretty quiet, but it’s always pretty quiet. One thing about living in the suburbs-quiet. All I’m hearing is a leaf blower/chainsaw motor. I do hear loud cars and sirens from time to time, especially on weekend nights. Erika’s having one of her migraine things-had to bow out of meeting. I get to do stuff over the weekend, and I need to get the tire/alignment fixed, buy a shed, trim the branches. Friday evening. Had to get Claire from lower Sandy, Salem from school, Claire got the car stuck and ran to help them, but they got it solved before I got there. Washed my gym clothes. Erika is better–just laid in bed all day.

Sunday noon. Online because there’s a firewall update that I need to check out-which looks fine. They delayed it from 10…The other weekend thing got postponed. Abbreviated workout on Friday-just died on cardio-only got 15 mins, dropped all the weights and went for perfection instead-not bad, but no tai chi. Bleh. Took Salem to their Friday gathering. Took Claire and friend to the Coffin Club, but that might’ve been Thursday… Got up early Sat., took car to get new tires and alignment. After that, drove to Salem to pick up a recorder for Claire-it was a bust. Drove around, went to some stores, walked around downtown Salem, got a burrito, drove back, stopped at the outlets, got a Nike running shirt with my Nike gift card that I got for filling out a survey. Home, took Claire to a rave at a warehouse at Milwaukie and the 99.

Wednesday afternoon (3/27). Pretty quiet, working-performance review, raise and promotion! That gives me a little breathing room… Not much else-fine workouts on Sunday and last night. Lunch yesterday with Matt’s old teacher.

Friday morning. Quiet as always-working on waivers. Going to pick up a birthday present for Claire tomorrow in McMinnville-hopefully this one isn’t a bust. A surprise of Whole Bowl for dinner last night, and lunch today! 20 mins to go, got everything done. Laundry is done-need to fold some. Gym, but not sure when-Erika is taking me.

Monday noon. My waivers got declined-back to the drawing board. Busy weekend, fine workouts both Friday and Sunday-got to run outside both days. I was fast on both the regular and intervals-I go faster outdoors than indoors. I can easily run 5.5 mph for a half hour outdoors, and struggle to get to 20 mins indoors. I think part of it is the enforced steady pace doesn’t work for me, but improves my fitness so I can run faster outdoors. Anyways. Went to McMinnville Saturday-bought a 8-track digital recorder for Claire’s birthday. Stopped at Barnes & Noble on the way, walked around downtown McMinnville afterwards, ate at McMenamins. Picked up Claire from work, delivered them to a party later. Quiet Sunday-lazed around, mowed the grass, ate breakfast late, so lunch was a protein shake… Monday-time to be done. Got through ethics training-woo-hoo! Set up for figuring out what to do with waivers.

Wednesday noon. Afternoon. Night. A thing is running very long. Meetings, picked up Erika from the binz and got food. Claire got thwacked in the nose at a hardcore show last night and it may or may not be broken-getting a ct in Friday. It bled but not unstoppably, and it’s swollen and sore, but no breathing issues. No gamelan, fine workout last night, though I felt off, and started with the wrong negative workout. Only got one machine in before thinking, “Wait, didn’t I do this last week???” My tai chi is slowly improving-though I tend to lose focus from time to time and either blow a move or lose my balance.

Thursday noon. Robot vacuum just showed up. It’s such an odd piece of software, like a blind child, just running into things to figure where to go. It does find its way home most times. I run it a few times a day and it picks up a bit every time, so I know it’s working. Not much else, a little rainy, cold. Another long-running batch process, more password changes.

Sunday afternoon, sitting in the Walmart parking lot. Lots of running around, up late both nights, sleeping in. Decent workout Friday, rainy so running inside. Salem came with us to the binz, got a dresser for Matt, had to come back today to get it, got a pair of LL Beans clone boots. Ate at Bertie Lou’s. Erika did a layout with her cool deck-7 cups, 8 cups, Page disks. The nice interpretation is: “You’ve been dreaming, Things are changing, Be a student”. The Crowley interpretation is: “The invariable weakness arising from lack of balance, Indolence-calm, dead, stagnant water-the German Measles of Christian Mysticism, Work slowly and steadfastly on getting earth raised to plant.” Ouch. Made bagels after working out Friday-they turned out fine.

Yummy bagels, fresh from the oven

Tuesday noon (4/9). Mellow-sunny and nice outside. Pedestrian fatality in downtown Milw-traffic is a nightmare on 99e and around. Quiet yesterday, Erika has been busy, Matt swam for the first time in years, and is dead today. Fine workout on Sunday. Looked at sheds again-need to pull the trigger. Had a nice deep dish pizza for lunch.

Wednesday afternoon. Lovely sunny day. Nice workout last night. Not much else. Got the recycling out early. Trying to get my first suling riff clean, and I’m in the wrong register. Aargh-back to the drawing board.
