At the studio, want to go in & play the Rhodes, but step in & bug Ken. Leave & Walk around a bit-there’s a party going on somewhere. Listen to p-funk for a bit.
At a hotel, walk to the restaurant and back out. Leave & wait for the train-Colin gets off & says he went the other way-we leave him there. Go for a bit & some tramway is dropping things-looks like kids but are robots. Get off & go to a warehouse where some guys are making them-we go in and help them try to seal off the place.

A day of Sunbreaks

And I drove to the train station to avoid the rain. No matter. Well, maybe there’ll be rain tomorrow.
The weekend was pretty good-got to sleep in a bit both days. Didn’t do much Sat.-cooked buffalo wings, drove M to a school dance-he had a great costume as a zombie chef.
Sunday was the state cross country championships. It was rainy. M bettered his time by a minute-he’s done that all season. PWS took first & 2nd in the boy’s race, 5th in the team standings.
We went to lunch afterwards & shopping, lazed around the house.
Erika should get her new iPhone today. Correction: tomorrow-just checked the FedEx website.

In a fast plane, up in the clouds, the pilot dives down looking for a place to land. The airport won’t let him in, so we go up and down very low. Finally land in a park. Get out and go to the airport-lay down on a bench.

I love Fridays at home…

…except for the at home part. Actually, I like it, but it’s hard to be productive with a squirmy little girl wanting to play. That and no one respecting my need to work. Oh whell.
We have a show on Nov 10th-if you’re in Portland, please come: From Indonesia to Portland
Pretty mellow day-a bit rainy, cleaned up the kitchen last night, won at Go against level 2 on the way home, reading more Steiner.
Had to pick up C at school, M at cross-country-gave Jill D, Nancy and the school a gamelan card and poster. Need to take S to the PWS Kindy Lantern Walk-it was very nice. Now time to hang out and eat, plus rum & Coke.

Walking through a bar. Get to the entrance and a bartender douses me with sweet & sour mix. I’ve done something to piss them off. The manager takes a bucket to me. He did it to one of the bartenders too. Talk about some guy who has a weird hat.
At school-Nancy is trying to order the kids and I’m playing around too. They knock over a fence.

Fall in Portland…

…and it’s raining. But only a little, which is the true nature of Portland rain. Which probably shouldn’t be called rain, though it does rain here, and hail.
It actually wasn’t raining when I walked to and from the train, which was nice. Cold, though. I like it-if you dress right.
Last night was gamelan practice-I completely messed up one bit, but the rest was pretty good. I’m feeling pretty close to ready, though more practice is always better. I’d like to rely less on written, and hitting the slowdowns right. And as always, pacing at the start-I’ve never been good at that.
Almost time to go-the nice thing about getting up at 5:30 and taking the train is leaving early-even though I still get home at about the same time as before.

Take out a power kite, really short lines. Go way up high and steer around. Come back down, it’s the next day and I can’t find the kite to return it to Steve. I look around.

A busy few days

It’s been a busy 2 days-M has been in Seattle with Erika on a school field trip to the King Tut exhibit. I got to take care of C & S. No problems, but it means busyness.
The weekend was uneventful, we’re out of cash, so no excitement-cleaned up a bit, church Sunday & get stuff out for the trip. Worked at home Monday, picked up C, back home & cooked dinner.
Up early today to get the kids to the dentist, got my teeth cleaned, watched a bit of Despicable Me, took C & S to school. Forgot my phone at the dentist’s. Starbucks, back home, worked, picked up C, S, shopped. Back home, cooked dinner, Erika & M back with presents.

Sitting on a couch, Al is on the other side. Thinking about Janine Turner and a show she was in.
Binding up an apron. Erika says I have to go help our neighbors with yardwork.
At an office, there’s a thing going on. I walk through.

Is the hiatus over?

I’ll let you decide. This one’s been about a year.
It’s been rather busy, with some changes. Erika’s mom died in the spring, we moved our office to Beaverton in August and I’m taking the train 3 days a week. I’ve lost some weight, am walking to and from the train, and standing at work and exercising there too. The office has a lot of food in the kitchen, so I don’t make breakfast or lunch at home-too bad, I liked the rice & oatmeal. There’s also an espresso machine, so lattes every morning. I also got a bread machine which I use a lot-I’ve made pizza dough and pretzels in addition to bread like 3 times a week.
The kids are great-Mathias is reading with a Kindle, Colin is a Minecraft wizard and Salem is a cutie and growing fast. Erika is struggling, but not going backwards.
Still working through Steiner, there’s been some progress, but I’m not sure I have a good program-I have a nice solid foundation and some insights that might be useful. I have a cheap tablet and read and play backgammon and go on the train. I wiped my iPod, so there’s that. Work is work, same job. Gamelan is hectic-concert early November, new pieces, and a few that we’ll learn the week of the concert. Daunting.
Money is short, but that’s nothing new. Church is church-I’m ushering once a month and sitting on a new website. I’d like to fix the sound system.
Politics is as it’s been-I’m tired of commenting on it. I don’t use Twitter or Facebook much anymore.
That’s about it-I don’t know if I’ll keep this up or not. We’ll see.

Packing up to go to a show. Lili’s stuff gets put on the truck. I follow.
Walk down the road with kids. Look back and the sun is huge and orange. It suddenly goes out, the on again. Freaking out.

2012/6/5

Walking outside the house, an alien craft circles-it has wavy tentacles. It stops, lands and I get in. It actually has people in it. I talk to them, and one girl arouses me. She starts making breakfast, but I think I’ll get some later. I go down to the power plant, and it’s a mix of alien and human tech.

2012/6/4

Going up a river in a car/boat. A big boat is coming, and we switch channels.
At OHS? in the gym. Sitting with a bunch of alums figuring out a basketball league. I leave and go to the lockers-pick the foreign one, then another-walk through. Go to the regular one, see Dan M from US and say hi.
With a bunch of friends, trying to find Todd O, who’s in trouble. We set up a signal thing, then split up. Get back together and talk.

2012/6/2

Go to an award thing, but I’m not dressed in formal wear-have to go sit in the balcony. Come down and mess with the audio.
At gamelan-we have a show Sunday and I’m ushering, try to figure out how to work it. Drive up the driveway and flip the car over.

2012/5/23

In a pizza place with my boss. I go up to order a pepperoni pizza. Go back & he wants it half mushroom-I go back up to change it and there are 9 already in.

2012/5/21

Walking around streets, I can fly. Go through and empty lot, over fences, some zombies? are closing in on me, can’t quite get off the ground. Finally do and go on top of a building under construction.
At a club with a band, get ready to leave. Some girl is arranging dates for me and some old lady wants one. I sign the contract and leave with her. Get to her place, she changes her mind but says I can stay. I follow her upstairs, and she’s undressing. She has a huge wardrobe room.
