Walk into church with Linda F. Watch everyone-we’re in another room. They’re still up and moving around. Suddenly everyone stands and starts clapping for Linda. I whisper for her to stand up.
Talk to an old man about civil war. He says 30 years ago there could’ve been one. I think back and say the L.A. riots are the only thing, I was there, and there wasn’t enough broad based support to sustain an insurrection. He starts mumbling and I ask him to speak up and he says wait. I go over to a platform and start messing with a server-moving it so the keyboard can stand up. I push and the Christmas lights come on. The old man says that’s it, I let go, and they go back off. They come on again when I hold them. I say. “OK, I’ll stay here like this forever.” Finally get the server and keyboard balanced.
At a kite thing. Trying to fly a very light dual line, but it keeps falling apart. The spars are very bendy and there are a bunch. Try to put it together better, and get it up in the air.
skiing, it’s dark. Look up at the sky and enjoy the stars, a bunch of meteors fly by like a river. Go to the ticket office and flirt with the cashier. Ski over to the gondola and get in-it’s odd, turns over and I’m lying on my back. A family gets in and has the same problem.
Wrestling the Rock. Go all around the ring.
playing with some band, all set up. Play a little and my neck breaks. Sit and watch, then start to put away my stuff.
Walking through a field, there’s a cabinet that has acid and dope underneath. There’s a bunch of people hanging out and talking. Walk up to it and grab something. Walk away and a couple of guys come up and try to arrest me. I push them away and they go into the next field. I throw a glass pipe at them. It breaks and goes through their neck and kills him. I leave.
Trying to get across town. Walk down the street, decide I’m going the wrong way, turn around and go another way.
Walking past a park, someone is flying 3 single lines paired up. They get them up, then they come apart. They do it through some trees, and around. After a couple of times, I tell them they need to make the turns at exactly the same time.
Walking with Matt to our new apartment. It’s really close to mom, and I tell Matt she’ll freak out. An enormous plane comes overhead, and circles. Mom comes over and yells at us.
Walk up to a class, give the instructor the flashlight. He says he doesn’t need it for this session. I set it down and he says it’s t’ai chi today, raises the table, and asks me to start. I get everyone up, and start swinging arms. After that, I start cloud hands.
Walking along a wide path, trying to get to tennis courts. It’s sunny and don’t have a shirt on. I think about where to go to get a shirt, as I don’t have my phone and wallet, just a wood tennis racket. Walk up the hill to the courts, find a shirt in a pile of stuff.
At work, walk around to help someone find some stuff in a pile of paper. Walk back to my desk, my chair is pushed out. Boss walks up and tells me I’m not working hard enough
sitting at a table with Taylor Swift?, trying to figure out the narrative for a set of laws and stuff. Pass the tablet around and try to decipher the text.
In a classroom, getting ready. Trying to find my notes, which were under one of the chairs. Not there. Look around and complain about it.
In a hotel, walk through the lobby and go to the desk to get my key-it’s on the second floor. Walk over and get in the first elevator. It’s half height, so I have to lie down. Press the button. The elevator goes down first.
Trying to find a bug in an application. Look at the log, but it’s huge. Start trying to find the line, have to walk outside and down the freeway to find it. Cross an intersection-one of us is blocking traffic. Go under the freeway and keep looking.
Get on a rolling container to go on a cruise. We roll onto the boat, and it rocks a lot-worried it’s going to tip over. Make it on, and the boat leaves-it’s actually a transport to the real boat. It’s choppy, and I’m enjoying the swell. Some other guy isn’t so much.
Going to the bathroom-it’s big and there are a lot of people waiting. Get in line and wait a little. Get into a stall, then find a bunch of paper. Have to write a check, but the pen keeps cutting out. Something about Genesis.
At US, there are seminars I want to go to. Peek into the room, then leave. Go back to my room, which has piles of stuff everywhere. Try to walk through.
Walk into a restaurant. It’s nice, so I try to neaten up a bit. Turn away-buckle my belt straighten my shirt.
Sitting with Reacher, he gives us all a bunch of gold wrapped things. I fumble and drop a couple. Someone else tries to get one. One falls down a drain. I pull the grates and it’s too narrow. Think about how to get it up. Watch someone get chased by a wolf, then run back. Then a jet bombs and strafes a road.
In an office go into one room, plug in tiny lights to charge and arrange some small fittings. Unplug and leave. Go to the next room to empty the trash, but they’re deep cleaning. Go to the next room.
Sitting onstage next to a bunch of mikes in a row. Mick Jagger is playing bass and singing. He goes from mike to mike, but stops singing to play bass, and misses some lines because of it. He moves to another mike and tries again, still missing lines.
At a gathering, someone comes and says Philip Glass wants to meet me. I walk over and he invites me to come with him. I go, and we wait to exit down a long set of stairs. Some guy cuts across the lawn. We stop halfway to look at a concrete watercourse. I ask him if he’s familiar with Chris Alexander and he says yes. We chat about how important water is to urban design.
Sitting waiting for a choral thing to start. The group comes out, and gathers in an alcove, then throws their stuff in it backwards. They come out to the stage and line up just on the edge and start singing, then slowly move across the stage. It’s odd, curvy with pillars.
Hanging out on a couch, some cute skinny girl comes and sits right next, starts squeezing right up on us.
In some restaurant/hotel. There’s a storm and we go back inside.
