My exciting life, this place
At 30700, in the garage. It’s raining and I want to go out and get hazelnuts. I run down the path to the back and there are none. Run back.
At work, going through a pile of papers looking for a topic to talk about. They’re all claims related, so not what we want. Keep looking.
Walking through another office. It’s Sunday, but everyone is there. Talk to my boss, getting ready to leave. I walk over to my desk.
At home, drink a big scotch. Someone starts to bag and I do to. Dad does too. I get to the sink.
Out at a bar, leave and it’s snowy. Walk up and it’s slippery.
At 30700, looking out the back. A jet flies past, low, it starts to climb, then goes out of control and spirals to the ground. See the crash, then call 911.
At someone’s house, hanging out. Suddenly the huge fish tank cracks about halfway down, and a bunch of water goes all over. We put towels on the floor and get most of the water picked up.
Walk over to an amphitheater, they’re doing a multi-kite demo. Comment to the next person how they’re only going forward, never reverse. Walk down to the river.
Walking along the river. Go through a mall and a parking lot. Come to a field and they’re flying. Start to get mine set up and some guy comes with a new one-it has a leading edge that’s bent up.
Go with Erika and Salem to a nice place for dinner. It’s closed, so we go back-I see Diana Harris in the window. We get back and she’s there too. I go into a big room and there’s a bunch of foil in tubes with stuff on it. I light one up and inhale. It’s not enough and I get a bigger one. It’s huge and I take a giant toke and start see thing things. I stumble out to the door and go outside and blow out a lot of smoke.
Walking through the suburbs. Come up to church, Erika asks my opinion on some project. Sit down and want to poop, but someone is talking to me. Go outside and to a bar, the Kuceras are there. Walk upstairs. Go out and try to fix a car, take the valve cover off and it’s a mess.
In my room at 30700, sitting on the bed. A spider comes out and walks across the floor. It’s big. Another one starts stalking it. The first one starts to run and gets chased. It jumps around and I start to move towards the closet. They run around the room and jump on and off the bed and me. There’s webbing everywhere.
Wandering through an Amazon warehouse. Go around the back-not many people here. Walk from one section to another.
On a bus in Paris? It turns and I bump into someone. Some guy gets upset.
Walk through a field with Nancy P. Lots of wheat stalks, full of seeds. Pick a bunch.
At work, Chris M and I are trying to get a network connection going. Go to the other computer and plug it in. It works fine.
In our workroom with the team. Everyone is at their desks. The lead goes around and asks everyone whether I’m a genius or a pain. Most people say both, a few say genius.
There are a bunch of white hairs growing out of a thing on my skin. Pull out one- it’s hard. Pull them all out, it’s easy, but leaves a big hole in my skin.
Go down Bell, can’t turn at the light at Linwood. Go the other way.
Going to a dentist’s office, we talk about how to get more business. He wants me to go around to other local dentists and find out what their prices are like. I’m reluctant. Walk over to another office and look in the window. Walk back.
At a school. They’re going to have an event and I have an invite. Go into the venue early and talk to people about the cool synths. Go over to the tables for dinner, can’t find my pass. Go back to the kitchen and get some food.
At school, go up the stairs to a room. Look around and leave. Lots of people in the hallway and stairs.
Walk into a convenience store. Look at the pot stuff-pipes and stuff. Walk back into the dispensary. I tell the guy what I want-only a little, and good. He puts out some, then puts out pipes and stuff as well. There’s a cool mini metal one the size of an iPod nano. I think back about the pipes I’ve owned.
Out on the field, someone is flying a black rev with ghostly filaments. I take over and do a bunch of rev-type moves. The wind dies and I keep it up for a bit more.
By some train tracks, a train comes by out of control. We get on it and try to stop it before it crashes. Get it stopped and wait for the railroad people to get there.
In a room, looking at my phone. There are 3 antennas and 3 phones hooked together. I close the cover and the screen lights up, I look at it and start getting it set up.
In bed, going to sleep. Feel like I’m falling down a ramp. Come back awake, then fall again. Go out to the other room, then back to bed. Start falling backwards.
Standing next to a big bathtub/pool. Pick up a thing full of fleas and put it in the water. The fleas spread out and don’t die-some of them start hopping. Get in the tub and start squashing them.
At a club. Walk on stage and start setting up my gear. Test the guitar and amp first. It’s too low-start turning things up to get it right.
At the office, trying to get a meeting together. The phones are messed up and I’m trying to get in touch with someone. Walk around and talk to people about it.
In the bedroom, going through stuff. There’s a pile that I’m getting ready to get rid of-put a few more things in it. Try to get Erika to give some more stuff.

Well-this is an interval-2 months? No worries-like I always say, I’m the only one who looks at this… I suppose in some future time that may change, but right now no one cares about my exciting life. It is nice to have a record of the time, so when I get old I can read about it. Not much going on-we were planning to take a real vacation, but changed to spending the holidays in L.A. I haven’t taken a real vacation since the 80’s skiing at Winter Park after hanging out with Al in Vail and doing a bunch of coke. Aaaah, those were the days.
Been slacking on this…(5/13) 2nd shot last week, was awfully foggy the next day. Working the fitbit, meals and everything. Hopefully I’ll lose some weight-walking or running every day. Making progress-on the way to 11 min miles. Need to start the weights and t’ai chi. Not much else, work, that’s it. E had bad vertigo and slurred speech last week-spent a night in the hospital-not sure what caused it. Read Moon is a Harsh Mistress for the first time. Need to clean this weekend. E fixed up the back porch. Filed my taxes…M and C too. C is working at Vicky’s. E got me a iPod Nano for running-it’s adorable and perfect. Been thinking what I would take if I was leaving for the job at AIM now…
Sat. afternoon, sitting on the porch. S got their shot today. Not much else-tough run last night, TJ’s Indian food after. Late deployment/test, checked another one today-looks fine. Starting tidy. Warm today. Going to visit parents end of month. Done with tidy-only bathroom left.
Sunday noon, drinking coffee on the porch. E is at a funeral. Hanging out in a new to me happi coat-it’s all like little adverts from a Chinese newspaper. Bright, sunny day, probably going to be warm.
Wednesday early evening, walked, it was cold. Nice, though. Another usual week, S got skates. C is probably moving out and in with gf. Visiting parents next weekend.
Sunday late afternoon, hanging out. Worked some Friday night, yesterday and today. Went to a protest with E yesterday, Ikea, yummy burger. Watched John Wick 3 last night. Went skating with M & S today, finished up work. No running Friday or today. Not much else.
Monday evening, watching curling. Didn’t walk because it was raining. Tuesday after work. Getting used to the swipe way of writing. Need to go run. Rainy all day.
Wednesday evening, June 2nd, almost bedtime. Been very hot the past 2 days. Not so bad now-I sealed everything up at about noon. Busy weekend, flew down to LA to visit my parents. Super early flight both Friday and Monday-lost a lot of sleep. Other than that, pretty quiet, hanging out with mom, dad sleeps a lot. E had one of those dizzy episodes Friday morning. Went to the Hat Saturday afternoon. Walked around the block every evening. No running since last Tuesday. Hopefully it will be cooler Friday. Played with the QY100 on the flight down. Need to do that more.
Saturday the 5th, afternoon, hanging on the porch. E got me a Jamba juice. It’s a lovely day. Ran last night-faster. Went to a higher breathing rate-more o2=faster? Maybe-it works for climbers on Everest in the death zone, why not me??? Slowly tidying. Not much else.
Thursday evening, 6/10. Not much happening, E got a gift from her sister. We might have enough for a house on FHA. Been cool and nice for walking and running. Got a new desk for work, replaced the kitchen table. M is getting a new bed.
And here it is, July 4th weekend. Totally been ignoring this. Not like much has been going on, though…except for the heat wave last week-it was a furnace out there. Kept it pretty cool in the house, so not horrendous. Visited the office, had a whole bowl for lunch. E had another dizzy episode Friday and spent the afternoon in the ER. Been slacking on pretty much everything else. Rick and Morty is back, bike racing is on. Consolidated more on the tablet. Got a new fridge today-old one was keeping fridge too cold, freezer too warm. A condo collapsed in Miami.
Sunday the 4th-Happy Treason Day! I wonder what things would be like if the Revolution hadn’t happened… So, worked out at the gym Friday night-not so easy on the treadmill, sore arms. Busy running around yesterday and today. S’s bed has mold on the bottom-sprayed it with bleach, got a frame-doesn’t quite work. Watched bike racing, went to the market and binz-got another running shirt.
Wednesday evening, watching the Tour. Nice day, went for a walk. Skated with S last night at the park after working out. Feeling better on the treadmill. T’ai chi-not so much. Have to look it up. Still watching my food. E tidied her area a bit, then the outside closet.
Tuesday morning (7/13), in a sprint planning meeting. Been busy-ish, need to call this. Pretty quiet-just exercising and trying to keep things going. We’re thinking of going to L.A. for Christmas. Library is open, went to the market Sunday. More Tour, Haiti got an evacuation order from the security newsletter I get (from the Huron days!), Rick and Morty, work, skating with S trying to get them ready for roller derby camp. Slowly losing weight.

I go over and start moving other server stuff. She wants me to help her move the heave storage unit that’s leaking. I say it should go on the hard surface rather than the carpet. Go into the next office and back out.
