Walking in the woods, I see a pterodactyl flying towards me. I duck into a field and it lands near me. I jump on its back and it takes me to its lair. It turns out to be a fairy girl. We fall madly in love, and we jump down to the ground and I carry her.
At 30700, upstairs-there are hummingbirds in the house. I tell H and try to shoo them outside. There’s a feeder by the hall window and I hold it for one to feed-it’s really hungry.
At college, one of the bars has a promo on and they’re throwing drinks out. We get there early and sit down. I drink a few, get one of the freebies, start for the bar but the waitress brings me the bottle. I spill it everywhere and I’m really drunk. I go outside and there are horse trailers and they’re going to have a famous horse buried at the entrance to the track-it’s a big controversy. I go back to the bar and they’re getting ready to go to some gathering. We leave and I walk through a crowd.

-The end of another day-waiting on a long running query. Not much else happening. Home, kids to bed, playing line rider. Up lateish, kids to school, work-problems with upc’s, lunch, work on a fix for the upc thing. Thinking of converting the bibliography and essays to AJAX.

Practice driving a tank, it’s squishy. Judy Y takes the controls and runs us through a training course. We stop to switch over to diesel from electric and talk about how to pay for it. Continue on through the course.

4:09 pm-The house passed the bailout-probably nothing progressive made it in…Palin/Biden was a yawner. Not much else-Matt came home OK, with a case. He stayed home today. Took Colin to school-a girl played with him a biy-to work-upset stomach. Testing, lunch, released a thing, on to coding. Time to go home.

Sitting in a big car in the back. Looking through a big box of stuff. Mary dW is driving and tells us all to put on our seatbelts. We get stopped, the cop asks for ID, looks it over. Asks some questions. I keep pawing through the box.

5:34 pm-The end of another work day. Busy cleaning up the messes caused by people pulling the rug out from under me. No worries. Did the changes and shipped the cr’s down the line. One more to go.

Yesterday: home-getting Matt ready for the field outing. Bed at a decent time, up, Erika came with, saw Matt off, off to work. Shifting sands, lunch, work.

5:00 pm-Getting ready to go-we played putt-putt at the other office and went out for beer afterwards-in all, a nice way to spend the afternoon. Not much else, work yesterday, getting done on this scheduling app, 2 new cr’s, home, kids to bed, tidy, to sleep late, up, school, work, lunch, golf. We came in 8th of 12. I got some golf balls as a prize. Whoopee.

Got a DVD in the weekly ad paper for “Obsession”, from a Zionist front group about Islam-scare tactics a month before the election. Some foreign bank failures, I wonder what the October surprise is going to be…No idea how the elections are going to go. Palin contradicted McCain on Saturday morning from Friday night, and McCain spent the weekend backpedaling. I’m waiting for the VP debate-I might even watch. Probably just get the recap in DN!… Obama’s still ahead in electoral vote.com. We have to register soon. Market rebounded a bit. They found ice and snow on Mars.

Waiting for a bus in LB. There are some troublemakers there. I realize that we are on the wrong side of the street. We walk over to the other side. I realize that we left a bag by the stop-I go back to get it and a bunch of people pass by it. One picks it up and I try to get to them. I got on one bus and the bag isn’t there. I get on another and the driver turns down a street. They stop and get off and I follow. I’m across the river. I start walking to get back to E, and some guy latches on to me. I try to get away and he starts to get mad and wants money. I pull him off me and walk away.
In a store-they’re having a promotion. I ask for one of giveaways and he gives me a few for the boys too.
Judy Y is sitting at my computer at work. She brings up pictures, gasps and I rush to close the program.

Park in a small structure/tight spot right by the stairwell. Walk up the stairs. There’s a line. I fill out some forms. I’m going to the Army recruiting office. Stand in line some more, change my mind as I think of getting out of it with a disability and see some of the disabled people taking the exam. Go downstairs, arrange the stuff/throw away things in my car and get in.

5:12 pm-Time to leave-big weekend. Camping tomorrow and Sunday. Not much going on-missed the Michaelmas play at school, didn’t have to pick up Colin in Beaverton, but went to storage and got my putter. The usual. Here’s the draft new UU principles. They should read: “Everything has inherent worth and dignity. Conduct relationships with justice, equity, and compassion. Accept one another and help each other grow into our highest selves. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning. Act with conscience and use democracy. Attain world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. Respect the interdependent web of existence.” Sarah Palin had another disastrous interview with Katie Couric this time. WaMu fell. Mccain stood up Letterman. Exciting times.

See a strip mall down the hill-there’s a tae kwon do school there. I go in with my black belt top-no belt. I walk around, they’re just starting. I stand on the end with the other advanced students, then warm up in another room and chat with someone else. I start doing kicks-they’re pretty weak. Some of the younger students want to learn how to do the jump spinning back kick, so I break it down for them-there are a lot of obstacles in the room now.

In Irvine-look around-all the hills around us are on fire and it’s coming this way. We get in our car and go up the hill-the fire goes over us. We get to a sub-division and go into a house-they’re trying to start the grill. I try and can’t light the thing. It’s an IBM and messed up. Someone else gets it lit and I’m upset. We get ready to leave.
