2:39 pm-Back from lunch, 5 of 7 tasks done on TBP. Yesterday-went to storage, got stuff, home, dinner, TV, took out the trash, kids to bed, tried to set up DSL, wireless is OK, bed. Up, breakfast, work, lunch, finished the book, Firefox 3 is out. Trying to reconnect with someone on LinkedIn-no joy.

10:25 am-Waiting for a query that shouldn’t take this long… Busy weekend-Friday was busy working on the big project, got an 8 track recorder for $100, the dude who was selling the AirPort makes his profit by overcharging shipping-that means a bad feedback rating. Go to storage, someone from church was nice and came over to move some boxes to the house, I got that van & did the same. Back home, bed, up Sat., got the truck, packed it, drove to the house, unpacked it, took the truck back, back to the hotel, sat in the spa, Colin had a fit, bed, up, cleared out the hotel room, home, unpack the cars, birthday party, shop, dinner, bed. Up today, make breakfast, drive here.

3:46 pm-Jam this in while I’m working through program #3 on this project. Went to early lunch for a coworker’s birthday-blecch. Got the satellite in no problems, now to set up the DSL tonight and get the phones working. I have to go to storage to look for a missing thing-I’ll pick up a few boxes too.

12:59 pm-Waiting for a looong proc to come back. Writing up a blog post on the Seed article and one on the Greider book if I have time. My iBook has a wacked battery-no charging is going on. I’m going to try the big reset next. Onward-maybe I’ll get a usb wireless and a usb expander-I need to put 2 other devices in it anyways. Looked at the start of the big project-ugly, ugly, ugly.
4:45 pm-Winding up the day-started on the next blog post, chatted with a co-worker, dug into the first program. Got an AirPort for $10-now I have to talk the seller into not charging shipping.

9:35 am-Starting work-go more spray glue, went to Hometown Buffet and the Goodwill last night. Kids to bed, played with the baby, sleep, up, did the morning thing, and I’m here at a reasonable time.
11:53 am-Waiting for Toad to come back to me-I don’t think it’s going to. Wrote a bulk load process, starting to test it. Keeping an eye on ebay-I need an Airport card, and I’m still trying to get an 8-track recorder and an analog synth. Our landlord emailed-she gave us all her house keys so she needed one back. Erika went over there.

Driving north on the 405 by Irvine. We need to turn around, and the guy driving starts across the median. There’s a deep stream & plants there. We tell him not to do it but he does anyways. The car gets stuck, and water is up to the windows. We get out with our stuff. People come and we push the car out of the ditch. I comment that the police are going to be surprised when they come and the car is gone.
In some sort if big hallway/play thing. Some people are following us and we go up the stairs and close a door. They’re still behind us.

In Long Beach, waiting in a line for some thing. There’s a festival or something going on, so lost of people everywhere. I get in line, and a school friend is there-I punch him a few times, not hard, and sit down.

1:09 pm-At work, waiting for a long pl/sql procedure to complete. Found 2 small bugs-glad I decided to retest this morning-getting changes in at the last second always leads to these dumb errors. Fixed and checked in. The weekend-got a dining room set, paid for the house and got the keys. Church in a park, picnic and a nice drive afterwards. Not much else. Crappy dinner in Friday. Laundry yesterday. Kids are getting stir-crazy. Set up the Mac.
3:12 pm-Waiting on a data export-the pl/sql failed b/c there was no data in the table. Lunch, got aaa done, canceled renter’s insurance, mess with Qwest is almost straightened out-except for the $100 the guy dropped on me. Paid for school-ouch-no $$$ until refund and expense checks come-gonna push off all the bills scheduled. I hate to do this. Hopefully the checks will come soon.

At a college-they’re having a recital-Pak W is there-I walk around and sit down in the back. Some girl is there, we connect.
In line for something, chatting with the people already there. A school friend comes and shoots me-everyone runs.
At home-the kids living next door come to the door and I tell them to come back later. I go upstairs and lock the door, they come back, someone comes to my door.

Walking down a street, some boy wants money-he gets change for me. Go to a movie sort of place, have to pay, but need to choose a movie first, look at the previews.

11:20 pm-Finishing up the day-with the Daily Show. Obama won, Hillary is gone. Not much else-I got my new old orange iBook. Need an AirPort card now. Not much at work-another feature, with a bug. Trying to speed up something else. The rest is the usual. Eating healthy at breakfast and lunch, not so much after work. Getting tired of the broken window in my car. Erika wants my laptop. The Greider book has some wonderful quotes-maybe I’ll type them up sometime. What he says is very important.

Go to a meeting at OHS. I walk through the parking lot and into a small auditorium.
In our new house, walk around dusting and starting to clean the walls, which are dirty. Walk outside to the garden-it’s dirty and messy. Start cleaning it up. Mom is there and yells about starting here to do things.

11:22 pm-At the hotel, finishing up. I had to do some work for Lassu, not much else. We went to Ikea yesterday to look for stuff we need for the new house, church today, downtown for the Rose Festival-carnival, basically. Home, laze. Not much else. Won an orange iBook on eBay for $100. Looking for a multitrack recorder and an analog synth. Test my changes then time for bed. And QWest still won’t let me submit an order. rrrrr.

Looking at Elli online-someone comes in and I try to close all the popups but they’re unending.
Someone shows me this fancy machine gun, shooting tshirts out, then water. He gives it to me and I inspect it, shoot a bunch of tshirts. Go and pick them up from the street.
Checking out of some food store with tall stacks on either side of the stand. I’m having trouble with things I already bought.

12:21 pm-At work, waiting for a looooong SQL script to finish so I can start another one. Need to go to the mailbox and storage. Haven’t been keeping this up because I don’t have a public place to put it. Not much happening. Work, hotel, church. Been downtown on Saturdays twice, saw Speed Racer last Monday. Matt’s been to school a few times. We rented a house in Milwaukie-moving in 2 weeks. My bills are all paid up, except one. Need to file change of addresses for everything once we get closer to the move in date, get Qwest phone, internet, dish-I can’t do it until Monday-DirecTV won’t schedule an install more than a week out. Annoying.

5:38 pm-Hanging out, with Food TV in the background. The boys are making wood models, Erika and the baby are asleep. Dinner soon. Friday was OK-got work going, visited the video store, lunch, work on storage a bit. Home, no video. Up Sat, go downtown Portland, visit Powell’s, play in the park, back. Another church today, we think this is the one. Look at a waterfall, lunch at Baja Fresh, thrift store, back, call to mom, make voice thing and start on wood things. We need to get back to 350 ppm CO2, we’re at 385. This is something that need to start NOW. Go to 350.org

I’ve been skiving on this-no time, and I just moved to Portland, OR because I lost my job and got another one up here.
But, I just visited This Modern World, and there was a post from Jonathan Schwartz about ANOTHER post from Tom Dispatch about climate change. This will be the defining issue of our time. Forget the war, the economy, everything else-this is it. And we need to take action NOW. Read the article, visit 350.org-DO IT. No BS. NOW.
Basically, to survive and keep our planet in a state close to how it is now, we need carbon dioxide at a level of 350 parts per million. It’s at 385. And it rose 2.4 ppm last year, twice the rate of 20 years ago. Not good, not good at all. Action must be taken, by everyone on our planet, immediately, no exceptions. Get involved, tell your friends, do things that reduce your carbon footprint-plant trees, get an alternate car, take public transportation, go solar. No sitting watching TV, using electricity-get active!!!
