9:51 am-In a meeting-only an observer and occasional commentary. So-busy since the last recap post. With a baby in the house, Erika is mostly involved with her and herself and I do everything else, plus helping out with diapers and feeding and comforting. So, I’m tired, Erika’s tired, we’ve had late nights most nights. No worries. Recap: Friday-kids to school, work, took the baby to the Doctor’s-she’s fine, gained back all her weight. Pick up boys, home, TV, bed. Saturday-Tracy and family visited, went to Huntington Beach with Mathias for a birthday party, home, TV, bed. Sunday-church, get food for Erika, home, very tired, boys swim, dinner, bed, baby-she’s nursing every two hours. Today-up, kids to school, meeting.

10:44 pm-Well, it’s been an eventful week. The big news: welcome Salem Ysabell Joelle Allen to the world! She arrived Friday 8/31/2007 at 2:42 pm. She was 6 pounds, 17 1/2 inches. Here’s the story: she failed a kick count Friday morning, Erika went to the Dr’s, Dr. said “out she comes”, had to wait 2 hours. Out she came, Erika got some excess tummy out as well, everything’s OK except that she has low blood sugar. So, overfeeding, barf, no rebound, ICU. Once she got onto schedule that all smoothed out then her heart rate dropped while she was sleeping. Erika got discharged Tuesday, Salem Weds.

Luckily I took Friday and Tuesday off, and now I’m on 1/2 days. The boys are back in school. Erika’s friend Tracy was there overnight, then her mom. As you would expect, not much else has happened. Church on Sunday, that’s about it. The boys are overjoyed. I’m tired, and a bit cranky and short tempered. She’s really cute though.

3:47 pm-Sitting at the pool watching the boys swim, and working, and listening to Veruca Salt. Yum. This is the life. Erika had to go to the doctor’s for a fetal activity observation. They’re getting psycho as the due date gets closer. And I have time to blog more than I usually do.

OK, recap first. Yesterday-up earlyish because Erika wants me home. Work, lunch, home, but I should’ve gone straight to school because there was a Kindy meeting. Meeting, home, Mythbusters, kids to bed, dinner, worked on a thing for church, bed. Up today early again, work, had to leave because of the whole fetal movement thing, pool, work.

Not much else happening. The baby is very near. Tomorrow is setting up lab computers at school. Then rearranging our bedroom. School starts Tuesday.

Not a lot, but I can see where I used to live in Long Beach, part of Brentwood stuff, and places I’ve visited in San Francisco and San Diego. Interesting (I can see Bette’s Diner-the best pancakes ever, and Freddie’s Sandwiches in North Beach). Another collapse in the Utah mine.
