The FCC is going to screw us. Again.

Because I’m so behind, I’m just finding out that the FCC is going to let media consolidation get worse.

And the deadline is next week. aargh!

OK. So what you need to do is call your senator and representative, send them email, send letters, telling them to stop this. I just saw that the Senate passed a resolution telling the FCC to delay, but that it won’t pass, and the board got grilled in the House.

Go here to find out who owns media in your area. Go here for the House and here for the Senate. Go here to get numbers to call Congress toll-free.

Update-12/14-Here’s another website on this topic.

11:25 am-Going to multi-task this in. Busy. Got a large quantity of icons to do. Some other non-work stuff to do. Recap: Weds-up, kids to school, work, lunch at school, home, the usual. Thurs-up early-pancake breakfast at school, t’ai chi, work, home. Rainy overnight-the power went out about 5am. Up late, late to school, to work.

I make my myspace blog a real blog, trimmed it so it’s that. I have an essay I’m working on about progressive values and the hippies. I’ll probably also post my essays there.

At work, some bigwig brings a whole pile of bills and spreads them everywhere. We go sliding all around the office. I go downstairs to the bank and they’re mad about it. I slip behind the teller line and back out again and up the elevator. The money is cleaned up.
In some garden, walk over to a table and they’re doing photo shoots. I talk to some chick and get into one. They’re ready for me and I walk over and lay down on a gurney. They take some pictures and it’s time for me to get hard. (N.B. these kind of dreams rarely have a “happy ending”;)

4:35 pm-At work-listening to lib radio, endlessly. Working on a big set of icons. Not much going on-baby was fussy last night and up late, up and kids to school today-no t’ai chi.

A new NIE says that Iran has no nuclear weapon development plans-big surprise there…and of course Chimpy doesn’t change his mind about Iran. We are SO going to war…

Going into a factory? We’re going to set fires (I think). We go around, then run out. We’re driving up the 405 and go off onto another road that dead ends in a river. Turn around and try to get back on the freeway.

More shop, home. Hang out, TV. Sunday-church, home, move the bed to the wall, Erika went to a tea party, finished while they swam, packed up my recording gear.Today-up, breakfast, Erika took kids because she was going to do a school thing, which isn’t until Thursday. At a yachting thing-they’re using a power kite, not very well. I talk to someone about doing it for them and write my stuff on a business card. I join the group, playing with a little trainer kite. We go into some meeting room & hang out.

4:06 pm-Working-have to leave earlyish. The spiral walk at school is tonight, but Matt doesn’t want to go so I have to go home and look after him and the baby. OK. Rainy. Recapping-yesterday-up, to school, t’ai chi, work, Erika went to get more diapers, lunch, work, home, to bed, dinner, sleep. Rainy today, to school, work, lunch. Filled out my Facebook stuff to get books, music and movies in. Go to the end of the bibliography, but there’s a bug in the link and it doesn’t show the stuff after the lists. Firefox only shows one list. Annoying.

Here’s what’s up-Riots in Paris, and transit strikes. Earthquakes, train and plane crashes, storms. I’m so far behind on lib radio that I don’t know what’s going on in politics.

I’ve been reading a lot of political stuff lately, and listening to lib talk radio as well. Plus the blogs. I guess this begs the question-so when will Bush get impeached? The resolution is in Judiciary and who knows if it’ll get out. Arthur Silber says no. I tend to agree with him-the Dem leadership doesn’t want to go there. Next thing is the Iran thing. We’ll see. Time to go to bed.
