They’re only partially wrong, but since they take the Bible literally, they get it completely wrong. Buddhists have it more right, as attachment to non-essential and impermanent phenomena is the source of suffering, and releasing attachment to that is the solution. If you go to the next stage and see your existence as one dedicated to bringing others to that state, suffering is welcomed as an opportunity to teach and learn.
