The recap: worked out Thursday, went to a birthday party at an equestrian center<\/a> Sat., ate at Hometown Buffet<\/a> later, early at Church Sunday to set up, child care, swim-Matt got in trouble, I got in trouble Monday and Weds-this time for electricity bill messup, ate at Peppino’s<\/a>. A JetBlue plane had a messed up front gear and landed in a shower of sparks, no problems-kudos to that pilot.<\/br><\/p>\n Oracle is going to buy Siebel-lots of m&a activity right now. I wonder if we’re on the block? Oracle is looking to compete with SAP-we’ll see. Peoplesoft seems to have been swallowed successfully-Siebel is close to Oracle HQ, so it should go pretty easily too.<\/br><\/p>\n Hurricane Rita is bearing down on the Gulf coast. It was the 3rd strongest Gulf storm ever, but it seems to have weakened as it hit some cooler water-to a category 4. Still a killer. Oil prices are up. People are running-mostly because of Katrina. We’ll see.
